Cookie Policy
A plain-English explanation of cookies, the small amount of browser storage this website relies on, and how you stay in control of it.
First, what is a cookie?
A cookie is a tiny text file a website asks your browser to save. On later visits the browser hands it back, which lets a site remember small things — that you are signed in, which language you prefer, or what is in a shopping basket. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in much the same way.
Does chimneycleaning.ink use them?
Very little. This is a simple information website about chimney cleaning. Our own pages do not set analytics, advertising or social-media cookies, and the site loads no tracking scripts. The table below shows the categories that could apply and where we currently stand.
| Category | What it does | Used here? |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Lets pages load securely and reliably, for example cookies a hosting provider may set to balance traffic or block abuse. | Only if set by our hosting provider for technical operation |
| Preference | Remembers choices you make, such as a display setting. | No |
| Functionality | Supports features like the mobile menu. Our menu works entirely in your browser and stores nothing. | No cookies stored |
| Analytics / advertising | Measures visits or targets adverts across sites. | No |
Why are essential cookies treated differently?
Essential cookies are needed for a website to be delivered safely, so they generally cannot be switched off from within the site itself. They do not build a profile of you and are not used to show adverts. If your browser blocks them, the site should still display, although some hosting security features may behave differently.
What about the future?
Some pages contain reserved spaces where advertising may appear later. If we add advertising or any other service that sets cookies, we will update this policy before it goes live, describe the cookies involved, and offer whatever consent choices the law requires.
How do I control cookies in my browser?
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies. Look for these settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
You can also browse in a private or incognito window, which discards cookies when it closes. Blocking every cookie may affect how other websites work, but this site's chimney service information will remain readable.
Who can I ask about this?
Send cookie questions to [email protected]. For how we handle personal details you email to us, see the Privacy Policy; for the general rules of using the site, see the Terms & Conditions.
